State Customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus

The Project "Procurement of equipment for the modernization of information and telecommunication infrastructure of border checkpoints" was conducted at the expense of TheInternational Road Transport Union.

The aims of the Project:

1. Acceleration and simplification of crossing vehicles checkpoints through the use of modern media.

2. Improving the effectiveness of customs authorities' activity through the use of modern information technologies.

3. Ensuring of smooth functioning of software and hardware of customs authorities and, as a consequence, decrease of vehicles down time as a result of a malfunction the information systems of customs authorities.

The objective of the Project:

To purchase server hardware for the modernization of information and telecommunication infrastructure of customs authorities, ensuring the operation of the new transit system at border crossings points.

The project budget is 100 thousand US dollars.

The project was implemented by the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with theInternational Road Transport Union.

Target groups: customs officials of the Republic of Belarus, conducting their functions at border crossing points on the border of the Republic of Belarus with the European Union.

Final beneficiaries of the project(persons who receive benefits from the project): carriers of commercial goods, drivers crossing the border between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union, other economic operators (private entrepreneurs, small businesses, etc.).

Activities implemented in frames of the project:

October 11, 2012. The project was approved by TheInternational Road Transport Union. March 22, 2013. TheInternational Road Transport Uniontransferred money to the current account of the SCC in amount of 100 thousand USD dollars for the implementation of the project.

April 19, 2013. The Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus has registered the Agreement of foreign donations between the SCC and theInternational Road Transport Union.

February 12, 2014. Addendum to the Agreement of foreign donations was signed between the SCC and theInternational Road Transport Union.

By means of received funds the customs authorities purchased server and hardware equipment that is used to improve the work of information systems of the customs service of Belarus and to improve the customs control operations.
