Andrey Bolshakov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee, took part in a meeting of the Berestovitsky district Executive Committee to summarize the completion of tasks for the construction of residential buildings and other infrastructure facilities and ensure their completion by the end of the year.
At the end of the meeting, Andrey Bolshakov pointed out current violations of the law when crossing the border:
«I would like to draw your attention to conducting preventive conversations with employees in order to avoid committing any illegal actions when crossing the border. This year, there has been a significant number of drug detections, some of them involving the movement of small amounts by third parties who do not even know about it. Citizens are asked to simply hand over any items containing prohibited substances on the territory of Belarus, which is clarified during customs control. And another trend is the illegal importation of medicines containing psychotropic substances and drugs from abroad. Almost 21,000 units have already been identified by Grodno customs officers this year.»
During a working visit to Berestovitsky district, the Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee inspected the existing customs infrastructure here, as well as the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border.
He visited the checkpoint located in the region, the waiting areas operating and under construction near it, the transport and logistics center and the departmental customs clearance point operating on its basis.
Attention is paid to the technological processes of control, the rhythmic registration of transport, the creation of appropriate conditions for drivers waiting to cross the border, and ensuring the smooth functioning of border facilities.
