Brest Customs operatives stopped an attempt to illegally import a 2006 passenger bus into the territory of the EAEU in order to further involve it in economic turnover.

The customs officers had doubts about the authenticity of the identification number of a foreign vehicle. His deliberate modification was confirmed by an expert from the Brest Interdistrict Department of the State Committee for Forensic Examinations.

Upon further inspection, customs officials established that using registration plates and documents belonging to the same model but only from the 1991 edition, the vehicle was tried to be issued as already registered with the EAEU.

The bus with an estimated value of over 270 thousand Belarusian rubles was seized pending the court decision.

Brest Customs has initiated an administrative process in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus (the movement of goods subject to customs declaration, with concealment from customs control, with giving some goods the appearance of other goods).

The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine of up to 30 basic units and the possible confiscation of the vehicle.
