Topical issues in the field of customs regulation were discussed today at a high-level meeting in the State Customs Committee by Sergey Shklyaev, Minister for Customs Cooperation of the EEC, Vladimir Orlovsky, Chairman of the State Customs Committee, and Tatyana Merkushova, Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

The participants assessed the possibilities of increasing the level of safety and transparency of cross-border transportation with the introduction of a unified customs transit system of the Eurasian Economic Union and third parties.

Among the key innovations of such a system are the integration of information resources for data exchange, a unified transit declaration, the use of navigation seals, and mutual recognition of customs control results.

Special attention is paid to the analysis of the effectiveness of the use of navigation seals in cargo transportation throughout the EAEU.

The mandatory use of electronic devices is provided in three stages, two of which have already been implemented.

Of course, the implementation of this process on the territory of all five Union states, which makes it possible to switch to remote digital control of cargo along its entire route, will optimize international logistics routes, as well as reduce the share of shadow trade.

The norms that will be included in the second major protocol on amendments and additions to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union have also been analyzed.
