Transformations and prospects of customs administration were discussed today in Minsk by about 300 participants of the XVII International Scientific and Practical Conference.
The program of the current event was based on the concept of deep modernization and "reset" of the EAEU, which was presented by the President of Belarus in June 2025 at the IV Eurasian Economic Forum. The concept is based on the transition to a new level of development of the Union in many areas, including those affecting the sphere of foreign trade, and hence customs issues.
Opening the event, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky emphasized:
"Following the spirit of the concept defined by the Head of State, we have set ourselves the goal for the next five years to create an intelligent customs that will be even more efficient, faster and transparent for business".
In his report, Sergey Shklyaev, Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, identified key areas for the immediate development of Eurasian integration, focusing specifically on the digitalization of the customs sphere.
Tatyana Merkushova, Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, noted:
"The development of customs legislation is moving towards creating the most comfortable conditions for trusted participants in foreign economic activity and at the same time creating insurmountable barriers for those who want to violate the law".
Representatives of the EEC, customs authorities and the EAEU court, government agencies of Belarus, business and academia worked out new approaches in customs administration and logistics assistance, and the introduction of innovations in legislation.
This year's conference has a special sound - it took place on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Customs Service of Belarus.
