In the first quarter, 89% of shipments of goods, placed under the customs procedure of customs transit, were released by Belarusian customs officers within 10 minutes. This indicator exceeded the criteria set in the customs service development Strategy for 2016-2020 by almost 5%.
Reducing the time, required for customs formalities, and improving the contactless method of registration of goods contributes to the release of goods in automatic mode. By the way, Belarus was the first of the member States of the Eurasian economic Union to implement pilot projects on automatic production of goods in export, import and transit. For example, in the first quarter of 2020, the share of transit goods issued to Belarus in automatic mode, which are not subject to prohibitions and restrictions, reached 11.5 %. At the beginning of the experiment in 2016, this figure was about one percent.
