Grodno customs officials stopped the illegal import of flower products to the territory of the Eurasian economic Union that were traveling across the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.
Сarrying out customs control at the checkpoints "Benyakoni", "Kotlovka", "Kamenny Log" and "Privalka", it was found that more flowers were actually moved than stated in the shipping documents, including those with a lower cost. The total number of such goods amounted to more than 100 thousand roses.
According to the revealed facts, the Grodno regional customs started 11 administrative processes in accordance with part 1 of article 14.5 of the administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine on a legal entity in the amount of up to 30% of the cost of illegally moved goods. Illegally moved flowers are not subject to confiscation.
The state customs Committee recalls the need not only for reliable declaration of flower products, but also for mandatory submission of phytosanitary certificates for it.
