Mogilev customs officers stopped attempts of illegal movement of fruit by Russian carriers on the territory of the EEU.
7 cars (4 IVECO, SCANIA, VOLVO, MERCEDES) under the control of temporarily unemployed citizens of the Russian Federation were stopped by law enforcement officers in the Khotimsky district of the Mogilev region. The vehicles contained apples, pears and lemons - a total of almost 60 tons of fruit.
During further verification, it was found that the necessary shipping documents, including phytosanitary certificates, were missing for the product. Customs officials also found that the goods were sent for further sale on the markets of the Russian Federation. It was also revealed that some drivers were already involved in similar offenses last year.
The preliminary total estimated cost of transported fruit was more than 75 thousand Belarusian rubles.
Upon the fact of violation of the legislation in respect of Russian carriers, Mogilev customs initiated administrative proceedings in accordance with part 4 of article 12.17 of the administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
This article provides for the imposition of a fine of up to thirty basic units, and for an individual entrepreneur or legal entity - up to fifty percent of the cost of the subject of an administrative offense, the amount of revenue received from the sale of goods.
